The Shepherd's Voice (cont.)

In a recent publication, Jack Hayford shares points of focus in praying for the nations:

First: Be convinced that God has placed them in their positions.

Second: It is the believer’s responsibility to pray for all governmental leaders. Our calling is not to pass judgment on their rule but, obedient to God’s Word, to enter into prayer with intercession that order and peace may fill each land. (I Tim. 2:1-2).
Third: Such praying makes possible the rise of righteous rule in any land, for God overrules in all things when intercessory prayer prevails (Psalm 75:7-10). Further, such praying pleases God for it paves the way for fruitful evangelism to take place in each nation (I Tim. 2:3-4)
Fifth: Pray. ... pray for a nation’s leader to be taught by God that the Lord Almighty is the source of his rulership; that humility fill the hearts of kings who learn to fear God (Dan. 4:34-35). Pray for a nation’s leader to love his people more than he loves himself; that he serve as a shepherd and not as a taskmaster (Micah 6:8; Jer. 23:4-5)
And finally: Pray for the family of each national leader. God is able to work wonders in the heart of any person at this practical dimension of their daily life. Rightly ordered authority begins in the home–in family relationships. Pray for miracles in the households of world leaders (Phil 4:22).

All things are possible to him that believes (Mark 9:23). This scripture reminds us of a nine-sermon- series we’ve been listening to by Keith Moore entitled, “Without a Doubt”. God wants to give us all things and our part is to believe what the Bible says about our situation, nothing doubting, no doubts.... doubt is understood better when you recognize the word double comes from the same root word ... we are to be single-minded, focusing only on God’s Word, believing only God’s Word, acting only on God’s Word and speaking only God’s Word.

Praise Reports and Answers to Prayer

Tom Adams received a good report from his doctor. His PSA is normal after undergoing a series of treatments...... Sara Gonzalez, a college student, got a new job and sold $400 of merchandise the first day and $1,500 the second day, which resulted in an immediate promotion for her.... Blanche Wilcox’s back pain left as Pastor began to sing praises in the service on July 8th......Cindy Smith’s 81-year-old Mother broke her arm in three places. They prayed for a creative miracle and at the last check-up, the doctor discovered new bone growth in her upper arm. The doctor said it was a miracle......Rosie Mitas was healed when Randal gave a word of knowledge about healing taking place in someone’s cardiovascular system and lower back. All pain left and Rosie experienced healing of a heart problem that affected her cardiovascular system.... Wendy Wyman reports that God has been blessing her with His favor..... Esther Boilore was told that she had RA 18 years ago. Randal Smolchuck and Tim Storey prayed for her. She claimed healing and in April the doctor told her that she no longer has RA.... also Esther’s great granddaughter was born with an undeveloped tube and doctors said it would take 5 years for her to be normal. After prayer, three months later God has done a miracle and the tube has grown to the right size...... Judy Nowaczyk got a new job with better pay and better benefits than her previous job.

We hope you are enjoying your summer. During the month of August, we are taking a rest from all regular Wednesday night classes. Prayer Meeting will continue every night at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary, including August. Start planning now to enroll in one of our Christian Living Classes that will begin September 11th, and experience a Christian walk where you are growing in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. These are the last days when the Bible tells us that perilous times will come. Without a doubt, these are perilous times and our focus must be on things that will count for eternity. The collapse of the bridge in Minneapolis brought our focus to just how quickly life can end. “Only one life, t’wil soon be past; only what’s done for Christ will last.”
